Dead Can Dance je hudobná formácia, ktorú tvorí duo Lisa Gerrard a Brendan Perry. Vznikla v Melbourne v roku 1981, existovala do roku 1999 – vtedy došlo k dočasnému rozchodu. Znovuoživenie skupiny prišlo v roku 2005, keď bolo zrealizované ich spoločné turné v Európe a v USA .

Dead Can Dance har även gjort filmmusik till Agustin Villarongas film El Nino De La Luna från 1988, där Lisa Gerrard också medverkar i en roll. [1] Gruppens musik har även använts i bland annat filmen Baraka. [2] Lisa Gerrard utgav sitt första soloalbum 1996 och samarbetade därefter med Pieter Bourke på albumet Duality 1998.
Dead Can Dance perustettiin Melbournessa, mutta sen jäsenet muuttivat Lontooseen, jossa yhtye sai levytyssopimuksen 4AD-levy-yhtiöltä. Yhtyeen ensimmäinen albumi oli Dead Can Dance ( 1984 ). Yhtye suunnitteli vuonna 1998 seuraajaa Spiritchaser -levylle ( 1996 ), mutta projekti jäi kesken yhtyeen hajottua.
