A little backstory: I used to be Roman Catholic, then I left Catholicism and became nondenominational. I wanted to learn about Christianity as a whole and about denominations. For a while I have felt a calling to eastern orthodoxy, I saw a video explaining eastern orthodoxy and it pretty much summed up what I believe as a Christian.

I’m so glad that I don’t feel compelled to adhere to a strict prayer rule, utter the Jesus Prayer, attend liturgy as much as possible, read scriptures and saints, fast endlessly, etc. It was interesting to me over the years why I always felt more at peace during my “lukewarm” or “backslidden” phases than the phases of steady practice.
