Thelma Furness, Viscountess Furness was a mistress of King Edward VIII while he was still the Prince of Wales; she preceded Wallis Simpson in his affections. She was the maternal aunt of the author, fashion designer and socialite Gloria Vanderbilt.

18 de nov. de 2022 · Biography. Thelma was born in 1904. She married James Vail Converse in 1922 when she was just 17. They divorced in 1925. Thelma Morgan was a mistress of Edward VIII whilst he was Prince of Wales. (Lord Furness, had several mistresses and didn't seem to mind her affair.) Their marriage ended the year before her affair with the Prince ended.

They had one son, William Anthony Furness, 2nd Viscount Furness, and as the former wife of a British nobleman she was known as Thelma, Viscountess Furness. By this marriage she also had a stepson, Hon. Christopher Furness, and a stepdaughter, Hon. Averill Furness.
