Mary Frances Buller-Fullerton-Elphinstone, Lady Elphinstone and Baroness Elphinstone, DCVO (August 30, 1883–February 8, 1961) was a maternal aunt and a godparent of Elizabeth II. Born The Lady Mary Frances Bowes-Lyon , she was the daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the elder sister of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth).
Lord Elphinstone is the son of James Elphinstone, 18th Lord Elphinstone, and Willa Mary Gabrielle Chetwode. His mother is the daughter of Major George David Chetwode and Lady Willa Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, daughter of Victor Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 5th Earl of Minto.
Born Margaret Elphinstone in Westminster, London, Rhodes was the youngest daughter of the 16th Lord Elphinstone and his wife, Lady Mary Bowes-Lyon, an elder sister of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Her uncle-in-law King George VI was her godfather.
