Hearst Chairman George Randolph Hearst dies The Hearst Corporation, owner of the Houston Chronicle, announced late Monday that its chairman of the board, George Randolph Hearst Jr., has died. In addition to chairman, Hearst, 84, was also president of The Hearst Foundation.
