George Stevens. George Cooper Stevens (* 18. Dezember 1904 in Oakland, Kalifornien; † 8. März 1975 in Lancaster, Kalifornien) war ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, Drehbuchautor, Filmproduzent und Kameramann. Zu seinen bekanntesten Filmen gehören Ein Platz an der Sonne, Mein großer Freund Shane, Giganten und Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank.
George is a printer of small batches of nature inspired art, usually executed with hand carved woodblock or linoleum block plates. Philanthropist Mr. Stevens creates partnerships between for-profit businesses and literally thousands of small nonprofit organizations through a foundation that seeks to engage and encourage the next generation of philanthropists.
George Stevens (December 18, 1904 – March 8, 1975) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter and cinematographer. Among his most notable films were Diary of Anne Frank (1959), nominated for Best Director, Giant (1956), winner of Oscar for Best Director, Shane (1953), Oscar nominated, and A Place in the Sun (1951), winner of Oscar for Best Director.
