Esteban I Báthory de Somlya ( en húngaro, Báthory István, en polaco, Stefan Batory Szilágysomlyó, Transilvania, Reino de Hungría 1533 - Hrodna, Mancomunidad de Polonia-Lituania 1586) fue un conde húngaro, príncipe de Transilvania (1571-1576) y rey de Polonia (1576-1586).
El conde Emérico de Zápolya de Szepes fue un noble aristócrata húngaro del siglo XV miembro de la Casa de Zápolya. Ocupó el cargo de nádor de Hungría (1486–1487), y fue gobernador de Croacia-Eslavonia. Emérico era hermano mayor del conde Esteban de Zápolya, padre del rey Juan I de Hungría.
John Zápolya or Szapolyai (Hungarian: Szapolyai/ Zápolya János, Croatian: Ivan Zapolja, Romanian: Ioan Zápolya, Slovak: Ján Zápoľský; 1490/91 – 22 July 1540), was King of Hungary (as John I) from 1526 to 1540. His rule was disputed by Archduke Ferdinand I, who also claimed the title King of Hungary. He was Voivode of Transylvania before his coronation, from 1510 to 1526.

The Szapolyai or Zápolya family was a noble family in the Kingdom of Hungary in the second half of the 15th century and in the early 16th century. A member of the family, John Szapolyai, was King of Hungary between 1526 and 1540, but he only ruled the central and eastern parts of the kingdom, because many Hungarian lords and prelates supported his opponent, Ferdinand of Habsburg.
