History. In History, we seek to equip boys with the knowledge and cognitive capabilities to draw on the past as a source of wisdom and understanding for the present. McCallie School founded in 1905 is a boys only college preparatory school located in Chattanooga, TN, United States. McCallie School enrolls boarding and day students with a total student enrollment of 890 in day student grades 6th to 12th boarding student grades 9th to 12th
McCallie is full of enthusiastic and motivated young men and nowhere would one find a faculty more skillful and caring. There are other ingredients that also help make the school community what it is. Students at McCallie become actively involved outside the classroom. They go out for athletic, forensics, and academic teams.
Lee was appointed as Head of School at McCallie in 2014. Professionally, Lee has accomplished many things. He served from 2011-2013 as President of the Elementary School Heads Association, a group of approximately 250 heads of K-6 and K-8 independent schools from around the country. This merit scholarship program was created in 1998 and named for Ed Michaels '60 and Alan Dickson '49 who were instrumental in its founding. McCallie's merit scholarship program was inspired by the collegiate-level Morehead-Cain (University of North Carolina), Jefferson Scholarship (University of Virginia), and the A.B. Duke Scholarship programs.
