Montgomery Blair High School's precursor was Takoma-Silver Spring High School, founded in 1925. It opened with eighty-six students and five faculty members, including the principal, Mrs. Evalene Beebe. Three years later, the Board of Education decided to expand the school to include a junior high school.
Montgomery Blair is part of the Downcounty Consortium (DCC). Students who reside within the DCC boundaries participate in the Choice process. Students and parents rank their preferred high schools for school assignment and are assigned to one of 5 high schools via lottery: Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Northwood or Wheaton.
I'm a student in the math, science, and computer science magnet at Montgomery Blair High School. My main interests lie in computer science, quantum computing, and generative art. In my spare time, I like to participate in quizbowl/history bowl tournaments, play the violin, take photos, listen to a wide variety of music, and write about pretty much anything I find interesting.
