Career He became deacon of the guild in 1653, 1665, 1671 and 1673. He is known for landscapes, though still life paintings are regularly attributed to him that are later reattributed to other flower specialists in the family, or popular earlier flower artists who signed works with monograms that could be read as "Bachelor of Arts", such as Ambrosius Bosschaert or Osias Beert.
