Lo que vemos en Blue Valentine es lo que hubiera ocurrido en The notebook si su personaje no hubiera podido tener de vuelta a McAdams. Y Gosling nos da una interpretación perfecta. Por su parte, Williams, magnífica en el papel (menor) de esposa sufrida en Brokeback mountain , da aquí indicios de lo que podría ser una carrera genuinamente interesante.
