25 de nov. de 2023 · James Hamilton, 3rd Earl of Arran (c. 1532 –1609) was a Scottish nobleman and soldier who opposed the French-dominated regency during the Scottish Reformation. He was the eldest son of James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran, sometime Regent of Scotland.

When James Hamilton 1st Earl of Arran was born on 25 April 1475, in Lanarkshire, Scotland, his father, James Hamilton 1st Lord Hamilton, was 61 and his mother, Mary Stewart Countess of Arran, was 21. He married Elizabeth Home about 1490, in Scotland. He registered for military service in 1502.
