10 de jul. de 2021 · Cecily Neville was born on 3 May 1415, the daughter of Ralph Earl Westmoreland and his second wife, Joan Beaufort. T he blood in her veins was royal, though stained by bastardy. Cecily’s mother Joan was the natural daughter of Edward III’s third son, John of Gaunt. Though John eventually did marr y Joan’s mother, he took a while to do it.

A los 13 años contrajo matrimonio, el 18 de octubre de 1424, con Cecilia Neville, que contaba 14 años de edad, hija de Ralph Neville, conde de Westmorland, y de su segunda esposa, Juan a Beaufort, hija a su vez de Juan de Gante y de Catalina de Roet-Swynford. De este matrimonio nacieron 13 hijos: Juana (n.y m. 1438).
