Magdalen Hall was based in a site adjacent to Magdalen College on Oxford’s High Street from its foundation in the late 15 th century to the early 19 th century. A fire in their buildings on the High Street proved the catalyst for its move to Catte Street.

  5. 12 de dic. de 2019 · By taking a look at several archival items, we also glimpse part of the history of eating and drinking in Magdalene College. The Hall was built in 1519 by Edward Stafford 3rd Duke of Buckingham, and since then has seen many changes in its appearance. The building appears not to have changed until the 1580s under Thomas Nevile (Master, 1582-1593).

  7. The large hall can accommodate up to 80 people seated or 120 standing and has a well equipped kitchen with full cooking facilities. The small hall seats 24 or around 40 standing and has its own self-contained kitchenette. Our hall is used by many groups from the community, The Playgroup; Southgate Opera; Reflective Yoga; dance and fitness groups.
