29 de abr. de 2023 · The main thing that elevates Critters 2: The Main Course above Critters is that the comedy works better. Yes, it has a bigger scope. It’s true that it makes better use of its characters. But what matters most is that this is a really fun movie. The critters being more active certainly helps…but this is also a much funnier script.

Of course the freshness is a bit off now (which is hot, the original was actually already a rip-off), but also in terms of timing and atmosphere it is all just not that strong. The film may be called 'The Main Course', but Critters 2 is actually mainly a dessert. Such a dessert that tastes quite good, but the main course was even better. 3 stars.
