26 de may. de 1998 · The Fifth Column is Ernest Hemingway’s only full-length play, written whilst his hotel was under constant bombardment from artillery shells during the Spanish Civil War. I read it in one day with a hangover and so not much of it actually sank in – my main memory of it is of the repetitiveness of the artillery fire, and the competence of his writing.
