Louis Armstrong (surnommé « Dippermouth », « Satchmo », « Satch » (abréviation de satchel-mouth, littéralement « bouche-sacoche ») ou « Pops ») né le 4 août 1901 à La Nouvelle-Orléans en Louisiane et mort le 6 juillet 1971 à New York, est un musicien et chanteur de jazz afro-américain, considéré comme un des jazzmen les plus emblématiques de l’histoire du jazz.

  7. 5 de ago. de 2021 · Armstrong’s 1931 recording of Hoagy Carmichael’s “Star Dust,” which had recently gained lyrics by Mitchell Parish, is a notable example of what made him one of the greatest singers ever. The record starts out with Armstrong’s glorious trumpet weaving new licks and phrases into Carmichael’s lovely, flowing melody.
