He began his acting career on the London stage, but later found success in America and received an Academy Award nomination for his role in the film Topper (1937). In 1960, Young was posthumously honored with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions in the television and motion pictures industries.

  5. 25 de nov. de 2022 · Roland Young began studying Classical and Jazz clarinet at the age of 9. He was tutored by his grandfather, Lawrence Denton, also a renowned clarinetist and composer. At the age of 14 he formed a vocal group and produced his first vinyl as "Roland Young and the Velveteers". The year afterwards he formed a free improvisation/jazz woodwind trio.
