5 - Cuarteto para piano en La menor. Esta obra puede ser considerada una gema olvidada: es la única obra para cámara sin voz de Mahler que llegó a nuestros días. Fue escrita en Viena, cuando el compositor tenía alrededor de 15 años. Su estreno fue el 10 de julio de 1876 en el Conservatorio de Viena con Mahler al piano.

During a conversation with Jean Sibelius, Mahler insisted that his symphonies were “whole worlds” embracing his literary tastes, his neuroses, responses to nature and, most especially, the inexorable cycle of life and death.
