Seven Years’ War. John Manners, marquess of Granby (born August 2, 1721—died October 18, 1770, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England) was a British army officer, a popular British hero of the Seven Years’ War (1756–63). The eldest son and heir apparent of the 3rd duke of Rutland, he was styled the marquess of Granby by courtesy.
27 de abr. de 2022 · John Manners, 8th Earl of Rutland was born on 10 June 1604. He was the son of Sir George Manners and Grace Pierrepont. He married Hon. Frances Montagu, daughter of Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Boughton and Frances Cotton, in 1628 at Barnwell Castle, Northamptonshire, England.2 He died on 29 September 1679 at age 75.

John Manners, 3rd Duke of Rutland KG PC (21 October 1696 – 29 May 1779) was an English nobleman, the eldest son of John Manners, 2nd Duke of Rutland and Catherine Russell. Styled Marquess of Granby from 1711, he succeeded to the title in 1721, cutting short a brief career in the House of Commons , where he had represented Rutland as a Whig .
