Battle of Nördlingen (1634) / 48.80556°N 10.48583°E / 48.80556; 10.48583. The Battle of Nördlingen [d] took place on 6 September 1634 during the Thirty Years' War. A combined Imperial - Spanish force inflicted a crushing defeat on the Swedish - German army. By 1634, the Swedes and their German allies occupied much of southern Germany.
23 de abr. de 2023 · Matthias Gallas, 1584-1647, italiensk feltmarskal i Bayerns hær under Trediveårskrigen. Gallas trådte i 1629 i kejserlig tjeneste og deltog i Mantovas erobring i 1630. Som generalløjtnant blev han i 1633 Wallensteins næstkommanderende, men sluttede sig til sammensværgelsen imod ham og blev under ærkehertug Ferdinand (3.s) formelle kommando Wallensteins afløser som øverstbefalende.
Vida y Biografía de Matthias Gallas. (Matthias Gallas, conde de Campo y duque de Lucera; Trento, 1584-Viena, 1647) General austriaco. Sirvió al ejército alemán y a la liga de príncipes católicos y resaltó en el lugar de Mantua (1630). En 1634 remplazó a Wallenstein en el mando del ejército del Imperio austriaco.

At the beginning of the 18th century, Matthias’s son Johann Wenzel Gallas (1671–1719) purchased several adjacent houses and plots to erect a three-wing Baroque palace. In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, Johann Wenzel ordered that the northern wing along with the left avant-corps be built on the newly acquired plots, but a more thorough reconstruction was initiated soon afterwards.
