Richard Maibaum was born in the Bronx of New York City on May 26th, 1909. Even from a young age, Maibaum was very interested in film and theater: "As a kid, I used to sneak into theaters--risking my life to climb up fire escapes and through men's rooms, then emerging into balconies--because I liked early serials and thrillers" (McGilligan, 270).

Christopher Hovelle Wood (5 November 1935 – 9 May 2015) was an English screenwriter and novelist, best known for the Confessions series of novels and films which he wrote as Timothy Lea. Under his own name, he adapted two James Bond novels for the screen: The Spy Who Loved Me (1977, with Richard Maibaum) [1] and Moonraker (1979).
