Heriot-Watt University Overview. La Universidad Heriot-Watt es la octava institución de educación superior más antigua del Reino Unido y se originó como la Escuela de Artes de Edimburgo, el primer instituto de mecánica del mundo, en 1821. En 1966 se convirtió en una universidad de Royal Charter.
Nel febbraio 2015, l'università ha aperto un altro campus a Putrajaya, in Malesia. [2] L'università prende il nome dall'inventore del motore a vapore James Watt e George Heriot, gioielliere, filantropo e banchiere del XVI secolo del re Giacomo I d'Inghilterra. Il nome Watt entrò in uso già nel 1852, dal 1885 divenne "Heriot Watt College".
