Abu Muzahim al Khaqani adalah Musa bin ‘Ubaydillah bin Yahya bin Khoqon, muqri’ negeri Baghdad. Beliau lahir pada tahun 248 H dan wafat pada tahun 325 H. Khaqani's Divān contains qasidas (both panegyrics and non-panegyric odes), tarjiʿāt (strophic poems), ghazals (profane love poems), and rubaʿis (quatrains). His other famous work, Tohfat al-ʿErāqayn, originally titled Khatm al-gharāʾeb ("Curious Rarities"), is written in couplet form (mathnawi) and is over three thousand verses long.

AlJawsaq al-Khaqani may be an attractive and exotic name-though one which incorrectly suggests that the palace was in some way Turkish4 -but the palace of al-Jawsaq must have been part of the overall complex, not the entire complex itself. Some name such as Palace of the Caliph or Dar al- Khilafa is more appropriate for English-language usage.
