The Monarchs of Prussia were members of the House of Hohenzollern who were the hereditary rulers of the former German state of Prussia from its founding in 1525 as the Duchy of Prussia. The Duchy had evolved out of the Teutonic Order, a Roman Catholic crusader state and theocracy located along the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea.

In 1871, after the Franco/Prussian War, he and Minister-President Otto von Bismarck established the German Empire that Wilhelm's grandson, Kaiser Wilhelm II shattered.

Friedrich Hermann Otto of Hohenzollern-Hechingen (born 22 July 1776 in Namur; died 13 September 1838 at Schloss Lindich in Hechingen) was the penultimate Prince of Hohenzollern-Hechingen. Friedrich was the only child of Hermann, Prince of Hohenzollern-Hechingen (1751–1810) and his wife Princess Maximiliane of Gavre (1753 or 1755 – 1778).
