Catharine Alice MacKinnon (born October 7, 1946) is an American feminist legal scholar, activist, and author. She is the Elizabeth A. Long Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School , where she has been tenured since 1990, and the James Barr Ames Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School .
Prior to this Professor Hill had served as President of Vassar College since 2006. After graduating summa cum laude from Williams College , Professor Hill earned BA and MA degrees at Brasenose College, University of Oxford, with first-class honours in politics, philosophy, and economics.

Catharine Bond Hill became the 10th president of Vassar College in July 2006. Hill is a noted economist whose work focuses on higher education affordability and access, as well as on economic development and reform in Africa. For the previous seven years Hill was the provost of Williams College.
