The Duchy of Saxony ( Low German: Hartogdom Sassen, German: Herzogtum Sachsen) was originally the area settled by the Saxons in the late Early Middle Ages, when they were subdued by Charlemagne during the Saxon Wars from 772 and incorporated into the Carolingian Empire ( Francia) by 804.

23 de jun. de 2015 · The original duchy existed about thirty odd years, after that it dissolved into minor realms. The attempts to revive the title by the bishop of Würzburg failed. The same can be said about the attempts of the rulers of Ansbach. There is no historical reason to add Franconia to the game.
