28 de ene. de 2023 · The Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home on Knob Creek is locally significant for its role in LaRue County tourism. The site commemorates the iconography of Abraham Lincoln. The landscape has features that contribute to the historic tourist site (1933-1938) and has further significance as the setting of Abraham Lincoln's formative years (1811-1816).
Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site is 3 miles (5 km) south on the Old Sinking Spring Farm; established in 1916, the site preserves about one-third of the original farm where Abraham Lincoln was born. The Knob Creek Farm, where Lincoln’s family moved when he was two, is 10 miles (16 km) northeast. Inc. 1839.
In the summer of 1811, the family relocated to Knob Creek farm, now a part of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park, eight miles to the north. Situated in a valley of the Rolling Fork River, it had some of the best farmland in the area. Lincoln's earliest recollections of his boyhood are from this farm.

When he was two years old, his family moved to another homeplace about 10 miles away. His family, including his father, mother, and older sister, lived there until he was seven when the family moved to Indiana.
