So wrote Abraham Lincoln on June 4, 1860, to Samuel Haycraft of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Haycraft had invited the future President to visit his childhood home in Kentucky. The Lincoln family lived on 30 acres of the 228 acre Knob Creek Farm from the time Abraham was two and a half until he was almost eight years old.

2 de dic. de 2023 · Birthplace Unit. Memorial Building. A neo classical structure erected by the Lincoln Farm Association in 1911 to commemorate the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. The Memorial Building enshrines a symbolic log cabin thought to have been the birth cabin of Lincoln. Access to the Memorial Building is via a wooden boardwalk suitable for wheelchairs.

16 de mar. de 2023 · Loop A is a hiking trail that is part of the 1.36 mile long Big Sink Trail located in the picnic area of the Birthplace Unit on the eastside of U.S. Highway 31E.
