Back in the stone ages, when I was in high school, showers were required. You knew what was going to happen that first P.E. class. Also we had showers in phys ed for the two years previous in junior high school.
Prior to high school I definitely avoided communal showers, and any situation where guys might see it, as I was quite anxious about being outed as the kid with the weird dick. I resolved to overcome that fear once I got to high school, as I noticed guys weren't commenting on or mocking one another's johnson anymore by that age.
