She succeeded Sri Daya Mata, who served in this role from 1955 until her passing in 2010. She also served as editor-in-chief of SRF/YSS publications, responsible for bringing to publication the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda—a role for which she was trained by Paramahansaji himself and which she held until the end of her life.
