Archduchess Elisabeth Franziska of Austria. Maria Theresa Henriette Dorothea of Austria-Este (also Marie Therese; 2 July 1849 – 3 February 1919) was the last Queen of Bavaria. She was the only child of Archduke Ferdinand Karl Viktor of Austria-Este and Archduchess Elisabeth Franziska of Austria .
The Archduchess was born on 12 July 1856, the second child of Franz Joseph I of Austria and Elisabeth in Bavaria. She was named Gisella Louise Marie, which the name Gisella was named after Queen Gisela of Hungary, wife of Stephen I, first Christian Hungarian king. [1] Although christened Gisella, she only ever wrote her name with one L.
Countess Elisabeth married on 10 January 1967 in a civil ceremony in Kreuth, to Prince Max, Duke in Bavaria, son of Albrecht, Duke of Bavaria, and his first wife, Countess Maria Draskovich of Trakostjan, and great-grandson of King Ludwig III of Bavaria. They married in a religious ceremony in Munich on 24 January 1967. They have five daughters:

Archduchess Marie Valerie was born on 22 April 1868 in Buda, Hungary to Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and his wife, Duchess Elisabeth in Bavaria. She had an older sister, Archduchess Gisela, and an older brother, Crown Prince Rudolf. Her eldest sibling, Archduchess Sophie had already died by the time she was born.
