CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN, Sir HENRY (1836–1908), prime minister, born at Kelvinside House, Glasgow, on 7 Sept. 1836, was second son, and second of the three children of Sir James Campbell, Knt., of Stracathro, co. Forfar, by his wife Janet, daughter of Henry Bannerman, a Manchester manufacturer; her mother's brother was William Motherwell [q. v.],
Levensloop. Henry Campbell-Bannerman werd geboren in Schotland als Henry Campbell. Bannerman werd pas toegevoegd in 1871 op vraag van zijn oom en dit in verband met diens erfenis.
