The short version is that 29-year-old, 110kg prop Murdoch scored a try in that game, drank heavily afterwards in the Angel and punched out security guard Peter Grant in a kitchen.

À 22 ans il part étudier à la London School of Economics en 1908 puis commence sa carrière de journaliste à Londres, où il est le correspondant politique du Sydney Sun, qui lui préfère cependant Charles Bean pour devenir reporter de guerre pendant le conflit de 1914-1918.
