Married: Sept. 1741) John and Jane Poe emigrated to America in 1749 or 1750. Living for a time in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, they moved to Baltimore about 1755.

Henry was then shuttled off to live with his maternal grandmother, aunt and cousin of the Clemm family.

Mrs. David Poe (Elizabeth Arnold) died in Richmond, Sunday December 8, 1811, and was buried at ten o’clock Tuesday, December 10, at St. John's Episcopal Church, in Richmond, Virginia, where she now lies in an unmarked grave.
