Oghul Qaimish bore Güyük two sons, Khoja and Naqu. When her husband died in Qum-Sengir in Turkestan, she brought his ordo in the Ögedeids' appanage in Emil-Qobaq region in 1248. Güyük's chief officials, Chinqai, Qadaq and Bala, helped Oghul to serve as regent.
In subsequent chapters she covers Töregene, Sorqoqtani, Oghul-Aimish, and consort houses in the khanates. She ends the chapter about Sorqoqtani on a melancholy note: “Like Hö’elün and Töregene before her, Sorqoqtani did not live long past her own son’s enthronement and perished of a wasting illness” (223–223).

Möngke unleashed a violent purged, killing a great number of Chagatayid and Ögedeyid princes over 1251-52.

Even nomads saw their taxes increase: normally every 1 in 100 horses was paid in tax, but in 1250 this increased to every 1 in 10!
The deposition of Oghul Qaimish would close the decade of female rule in the Mongol Empire, which lasted from 1241 until 1250. Never again would a woman be recognized as Empress or rule the whole empire. However, during this period, women did not act as puppet rulers or simple grantors of legitimacy for male rulers.
