Dina Merrill was born on 29th December 1923 in New York City to Marjorie Merriweather Post, the heiress of Post Cereals, and Wall Street stockbroker, Edward Francis Hutton. An American actress who was adept at playing upper-crust socialites on the big screen, Merrill was best known for her performance opposite Tony Curtis in Blake Edwards’ Operation Petticoat (1959). Subsequently, she starred alongside Cary Grant and Tony Curtis in the film “Operation Petticoat” (1959) directed by Blake Edwards.
