Elsa Sullivan Lanchester ( London, 1902. október 28. – Los Angeles, 1986. december 26.) Golden Globe-díjas angol-amerikai színésznő, Charles Laughton Oscar-díjas színész felesége. Lanchester leghíresebb szerepe a The Bride of Frankenstein című horrorfilmben volt. 1957-ben A vád tanúja című film Golden Globe-díjat hozott neki.
Premi. La Lanchester si avvicinò al mondo dello spettacolo fin da bambina, studiando danza con la celeberrima Isadora Duncan. Dotata di un forte temperamento, dopo aver esordito nel music-hall come ballerina, a vent'anni iniziò a lavorare come attrice sui palcoscenici londinesi, debuttando nello spettacolo Thirty Minutes in a Street (1922).
Lanchester wrote two books of memoirs, "Charles and I" (1939) and "Elsa Lanchester Herself" (1983). She died of pneumonia at the Motion Picture Country Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. At her request there were no funeral or memorial services, and her ashes were scattered in the Pacific.
