Duke Paul Frederick of Mecklenburg ( German: Herzog Paul Friedrich zu Mecklenburg; given names: Paul Frederick Charles Alexander Michael Hugh; 12 May 1882 – 21 May 1904) [1] was a member of the House of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and a German soldier and sailor. Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (19 May 1744 – 17 November 1818) was the queen of the United Kingdom as the wife of King George III. She was queen consort of the United Kingdom from her marriage on September 8, 1761 to to death, on November 18,1818. Charlotte and George III had 15 children, of whom 13 survived to adulthood.
Family. Born in Berlin, Frederick was the son of Prince Louis Charles of Prussia and Duchess Frederica of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, later Queen of Hanover, nephew of King Frederick William III of Prussia and stepson of Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover . Princess Charlotte of Wales was interested in Frederick in 1814 and hoped to marry him.
