Sigismund III Vasa (born June 20, 1566, Gripsholm, Swed.—died April 30, 1632, Warsaw, Pol.) was the king of Poland (1587–1632) and of Sweden (1592–99) who sought to effect a permanent union of Poland and Sweden but instead created hostile relations and wars between the two states lasting until 1660.

Sigismund I ( puol. Zygmunt I Stary, liett. Žygimantas II Senasis, 1. tammikuuta 1467 – 1. huhtikuuta 1548) oli Puolan kuningas ja Liettuan suuriruhtinas vuosina 1506–1548. Sigismund I oli Puolan kuningas Kasimir Jagiellon ja Elisabet Itävaltalaisen poika. Hän seurasi veljiään Juhana I:ä ja Aleksanteri I:ä Puolan valtaistuimelle.
