Blessed Bernard of Baden, also known as Bernard of Marchio, Bernard II, Margrave of Baden-Baden, Bernhard of Baden, or Bernardo, was born into the noble family of Baden in the year 1428. He was the eldest son of Margrave Jacob of Baden and Catherine de Lorraine, and had a strong lineage, being the grandson of Saint Margaret of Bavaria.
Bertha of Lorraine. Hermann IV, Margrave of Baden (1135 – September 13, 1190) was titular Margrave of Verona and Margrave of Baden from 1160. He was the son of Hermann III and Bertha of Lorraine, daughter of Simon I of Lorraine. Around 1162 he was married to Bertha (died February 24, 1169), the daughter of Count Palatine Ludwig of Tübingen.
Frederick I of Baden (1249 – October 29, 1268), a member of the House of Zähringen, was Margrave of Baden and of Verona, as well as claimant Duke of Austria from 1250 until his death. As a fellow campaigner of the Hohenstaufen king Conradin , he likewise was beheaded at the behest of King Charles I of Naples .

Margaret of the Palatinate (German: Margarete von der Pfalz; 1376 – 26 August 1434, Einville-au-Jard) was the daughter of Rupert of Germany and his wife Elisabeth of Nuremberg. She married Charles II, Duke of Lorraine on 6 February 1393. [1]
