He married Winifred Agneta Yorke Bevan, daughter of Roland Yorke Bevan and Hon. Agneta Olivia Kinnaird, on 5 December 1905.
Elizabeth, daughter and heiress of Thomas Sidney, fourth son of Robert Sidney, 4th Earl of Leicester, was the grandmother of John Shelley-Sidney, whose son Philip Sidney (1800–1851) was raised to the Peerage of the United Kingdom as Baron De L'Isle and Dudley.

5 de abr. de 1991 · William Philip Sidney, 1st Viscount De L'Isle, V.C. was born on 23 May 1909 at Chelsea, London, England. He was the son of William Sidney, 5th Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst and Winifred Agneta Yorke Bevan.
Philip was born in late January 1828 in London as the 4th child and only son of Philip Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley and his wife Lady Sophia FitzClarence. His mother was an illegitimate daughter of King William IV through his longtime mistress actress Dorothea Jordan.
William Philip Sidney, 1st Viscount De L'Isle VC KG GCMG GCVO KStJ PC (23 May 1909 – 5 April 1991), known as Lord De L'Isle and Dudley between 1945 and 1956, was a British Army officer, politician and Victoria Cross recipient who served as the 15th Governor-General of Australia, in office from 1961 to 1965. He was the last non-Australian to hold the position.
