19 de abr. de 2023 · The official name of the cathedral is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It’s the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo. Building began in 1170 on the site of the former mosque and the cathedral was consecrated in 1185. The cathedral was built roughly the same time as neighboring Monreale Cathedral.
