The Johnny Weissmuller RKO Tarzan Films. Tarzan Triumphs (1943) – 7.0. Tarzan "Kill Nazis" as he hands out machine guns to the natives. Tarzan "In the jungle the strong always win" throwing back the earlier words at a Nazi General as a lion eats him. This is the first Tarzan film after the franchise was shifted to RKO from MGM.
Johnny went on to make six Tarzan films for RKO Pictures in rapid succession, starting with the 1943 release Tarzan Triumphs. Although they were lower-budget than the MGM movies, there were several noteworthy and acclaimed adventure films in the bunch and they became a solid part of the Weissmuller Tarzan legacy – especially the final three films.
I have grown up with Tarzan movies played by Johnny Weissmuller. It was the "dark" comunism time, when during Saturdays, during lunch time, we had like 30 mins of "speacial treat": few minutes played from a good movie. Decades, after moving in Canada, in July 2009, I have discovered these movies with Tarzan, grouped under 2 volumes.
