Frederica Lascelles was the daughter of Sir John Ramsden, 4th Baronet, and Lady Harriet Beckford. The couple was married on 23 July 1856 at St. George's, Hanover Square, London.

After the Dissolution the estate eventually passed to George Potts, who in 1666 granted it, described as a grange called Nun Pallions, to Henry Thompson.
