Hace 2 días · In 1545 tenements in the neighbourhood of Charterhouse Yard were granted to John Bernard, another of the King's servants. These were 'Egypt' and 'Le Garneter', the monastery's names for its flesh kitchen—in biblical reference to the 'fleshpots of Egypt'—and granary. (fn. 9) 333. 20 de may. de 2024 · The Charterhouse Loop Challenge will take place on 7 June at 4.30pm. The event will raise money for Oasis a charity which supports vulnerable families and children in Surrey. Pupils, teachers (and their children) are all invited to take part. Participants may run, walk or sprint 1-5 loops with the longest distant equivalent to a half marathon.

It is not often that Charterhouse has had the honour of welcoming a former Prime Minister and Sir John Major’s visit to Charterhouse was (according to Second Year Specialist Theo, who introduced and thanked the speaker) the first in nearly half a century.
