Dan and Alice went back to their car and the movie ended. Hassel reprised his role of Dan Jordan in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child".
In Elm Street 4, Alice became the so-called "Dream Master" and was guarding the positive gate of dreams, keeping Freddy at bay. He was trapped behind his own gate that was symbolized in the church. Suddenly, Alice finds herself pregnant and Freddy finally has a way to weasel himself back using Jacob.
