The Beach Boys' album Pet Sounds, issued on May 16, 1966, was massively influential upon its release, containing lush and sophisticated orchestral arrangements that raised the band's prestige to the top level of rock innovators.

Then first track "Clang of the Yankee Reaper and the last track ' Canon in D ' are worth the price of admission alone , catchy and powerful . The songs between are primarily cover versions of pleasant island music , easy to listen to and drift away .
