Captain Beyond. American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971. The band featured former members of Iron Butterfly and Deep Purple. Drummer Bobby Caldwell (2) had played for Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer.
História. Captain Beyond foi formada em 1972 pelos ex-membros do Iron Butterfly: Rhino, Lee Dorman, Bobby Caldwell, e o primeiro vocalista do Deep Purple, Rod Evans. Pouco tempo depois, assinaram contrato com a Warner. Em 1972 apresentaram o primeiro álbum. Em 73 lancaram o segundo álbum, mais virado para o hard progressivo.

Captain Beyond est un groupe américain de hard rock originaire de Los Angeles formé en 1972 par l'ex-chanteur de Deep Purple, Rod Evans [1]. Le guitariste est Larry Reinhardt mieux connu sous le nom de « Rhino », qui jouait avec Iron Butterfly avant avec le bassiste qui vient du même groupe, Lee Dorman .
