  4. The Bishop’s School, as it was then called, opened on its current site on the 16th April 1890 with 45 boys. Girls were welcomed in 1902 and the school was coeducational until 1927, when the girls departed to their new school on Stratford Road. Originally there were boarders, but since the Second World War we have catered for day pupils only.

  7. 20 de jul. de 2023 · The Bishop’s School was founded in 1890, by John Wordsworth, the Bishop of Salisbury. After his death, the school was renamed Bishop Wordsworth’s School and remains known as such, to this day.
